Delicious food comes from delicious ingredients. We utilize only the best: chocolate by Barry Callebaut, purées and fresh fruit from Boiron and local farmers markets, and butter, cream and milk from the dairy farms of Wisconsin. Our goal is to bring you sweets and snacks that you will both trust and love so that you’ll come back for more!
We founded Cocoa Tree Confectionery based upon our love of unique and decadent foods.
Using our experience in our local food communities, we curate seasonal selections and specialty flavors for our customers.
When you shop with us, you are supporting local communities. Interested in learning more about the practices behind your purchases? Get in touch! We have answers.
It’s a story as old as time: a stay-at-home mom fell in love with all thing culinary and once her kids were old enough to fend for themselves, she took a leap back into the business world with a renewed passion.
What can I say? I’ve been blessed with a supportive family and a work ethic that drives me to succeed. They say that you should do what you love, and food is what I love!
Formal training? Um . . . kinda. I took lessons at the ‘Pinch of This, Bit of That’ school of cooking. But once the baking and confectionery bug bit me, I gobbled up as many classes and seminars that I could at Chicago Chocolate Academy, Melissa Coppel Chocolate in Las Vegas, French Pastry School and Amaury Guichon Pastry Academy. For three years I haunted those hallowed halls, absorbing every nugget of knowledge I could. I was lucky enough to work with Chefs such as Jerome Landrieu, Nicolas Bernardè (MOF), Cedric Grolet, Amaury Guichon, Kirsten Tibballs, Yann Brys (MOF), Vincent Guerlais and more. And yes, I’ve gone totally Fan Girl when it comes to talented chefs!
So what now? My search for the perfect storefront has ended and I'm finally getting the word out. I was lucky enough to find some absolutely amazing assistants- a few moms looking to keep themselves busy during the day along with eager kids who may have just been looking to make a few bucks, but have also found a place to learn more than how to make some sweet treats.
Has it been easy? Um....no. Opening during a pandemic was an adventure, to say the least. Equipment and supply delays made everything really complicated, but we've been blessed to be surrounded by a community who has rallied around small businesses during a time when we need the most help. But all in all, it's been a blast and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing.
We believe in supporting our community, giving back, paying it forward and always remembering that success is a team effort.
After all, I definitely couldn't have made it this far by myself.
Keep in touch and join our journey!
